Weekend Baking | Baked Churros

Churros are probably my favourite thing to eat ever! I love the cinnamon sugar mix on them and the melted chocolate on the side. I've made them quite a few times but that involved deep frying them which is not only a bit dangerous but you have to get a lot of oil and it's much more of a chore.
The churros that I've made taste just as good as the fried version but are baked in the oven instead so read on to check out how to make them...

You Will Need

For The Churros
50g of Plain Flour
25g of Unsalted Butter
75ml of Water
1tbsp of Caster Sugar
1 Egg

For The Coating
20g of Melted Butter
20g of Caster Sugar
1tbsp of Ground Cinnamon
(50g of Melted Chocolate for the dip)

To Make

1) In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugar in the water
2) Add the flour and mix until it's a firm dough
3) Whisk the egg and add it to the dough mix gradually
4) Pipe the mixture onto a baking tray and bake at 200° for about 10 minutes or until golden brown
5) Leave to cool for about 10 minutes and then dip the churros in the melted butter and then the sugar and cinnamon
6) Serve warm with some melted chocolate

Thanks for reading :)

Have you done any baking this week?
