Making My Own Skincare

This is a blog post I never thought I'd be writing! I'm definitely the person who spends way too much time and money on skincare products but at the beginning of the year, my neighbour gave me a pot of homemade green tea cleanser. At first I tried to use it as a moisturiser but it was too thick for my skin. However, one evening when I couldn't be bothered to go into my room and find my usual cleanser, I tried this to take off my make up! It was honestly amazing, it soothed my skin, it didn't make my eyes feel sore when I took off my eye makeup and my skin looked so much brighter after using it.

Of course the jar didn't last long and so I took the plunge and I decided to make my own. The recipe which I followed was from saynotsweetanne.com and you can check it out here. Sourcing the ingredients was a bit tricky but the recipe is really easy to do.

I melted the oils and wax and then added some green tea, mixed them all together to form a paste and then waited for it to cool and that was pretty much it! It's a really easy process and something which I would definitely do again as the results I get from the cleanser are really worth it!

Thanks so much for reading :)

Have you ever made your own skincare?

  4. This is such a great idea! <3 I love homemade skincare products because you can control what you want to add and you also know for sure there aren't any nasty chemicals in it! :) I have made my own body scrub before using brown sugar and coconut oil <3 I have to give this a try as well since I love green tea! :D xx
